Dear Reed Hastings, Kelly Bennett, and Tawni Cranz,
First of all, I would like to thank you for making the decision to offer Neil Jordan’s The Borgias to your subscribers, especially the recent decision to stream it!
I, like many of your subscribers, can’t get enough of this incredibly thought-provoking, visually superb, incredibly written and performed show.
The reason I’m contacting you is because, as I’m sure you’re well aware, David Nevins of Showtime cancelled this amazing show just shy of its final season. Millions of viewers never got to see the conclusion of this fascinating story about the original crime family that on which Mario Puzo based his famous novel on, The Godfather. We never got to see the full potential of the legend on whom Machiavelli’s The Prince is based: Cesare Borgia. We never got to see Neil Jordan’s 4-season vision of the Borgia family’s story.
The first 3 seasons lead up to Cesare’s rise, and his father, Pope Alexander VI’s downfall. This is where it was cut, right at the story’s pinnacle! And when there was only one season left to complete the story!
I realize and have been told there is another show called “Borgia” that I should tune into to fill the void Showtime left. But it’s a very different show. Believe me, I’ve tried. Unfortunately, one can’t just swap out one show about the papacy for another.
Netflix has saved other shows like Arrested Development and The Killing. So, on behalf of the millions of fans worldwide, I ask that you consider saving The Borgias and give us our conclusion.
PLEASE SAVE OUR SHOW! A forever-loyal subscriber to Netflix! (your name here)
P.S. Neil Jordan, as well as the cast, have publicly stated many times, that they would love to finish the story.
